Samatian is a fully hosted lodge on a private island in Lake Baringo, part of the Great Rift Valley, and pehe 30-acre Private Island is situated on the northern side of Lake Baringo, renowned for its spectacular sunsets. There are breathtaking views across the waters of the lake towards the wild and rugged Northern Frontier District. Blended with the wild elements of nature on the shores of Lake Baringo. In total there are four large double rooms with en-suite bathrooms, one large open-plan two-bedroom family cottage with en-suite bathrooms and one large two-bedroom cottage with a shared bathroom. All the thatched rooms are extremely comfortable with views out over the lake and the Rift Valley landscape, and some have private open-air baths or showers hidden away in the trees or rocks. Recently I decided to go through a social experiment on myself which required me to focus on doing just one thing. For an entire week, let nothing bother me. A goal that at first seemed exciting and slightly impossible, but one that lead to a new perspective on life. I also had one of the best weeks emotionally than I’ve had in a very long time, and the best part is it didn’t cost me a thing. To never give up takes more work than just a choice to do so. It requires dedication and an unrelenting commitment to making sure that not only is a task completed but also done right. Starting new projects are always fun.
